Personally I believe that you need to play the game a lot to learn what works better when building anything. Also you do not need to ask other players to "activate MOO before placing your lot", for me is a bad build, you need to be careful when you use the game cheats.
I completely agree. MOO is useful for placing a few accents like decorations or landscaping. I like to use it occasionally but always turn it off after I placed this one object that would not fit. I place usable furniture without MOO so I know it should be usable. MOO should not be active all the time if you want to play in a lot.
That being said, after playtesting several of my own builds, I have realised MOO is not always the culprit. I have found problems in buildings with ceiling lights blocking objects even if they seem to fit visually and were placed without MOO. In my latest build i forgot the mailbox in build mode and it spawned in a place where it deleted two doors. And then there is the stair bug we currently have. Lots which were working perfectly fine when first created,aare suddenly not functioning properly any more.
So even without MOO, playtesting is always necessary.
