For the record, I never needed mods for Sims2. However, despite playing on a gaming rig, I did need them to stabilize the Sims3, itself, just to make it playable. Adding a few gameplay mods was natural from there. I love CAS in Sims4 and the general look of the Sims, too. I use MCCC for many things, but it's also really cool to be able to give Sims some skills coming out of CAS. Especially if you create an entire family up front. Hard to imagine a set of parents without any skills, who have teen children. I do wish EA will one day build the ability for the player to give skills to their Sims while in CAS. Yes, I do know they've made a move toward that, but you can only do it once per game save and I have never gotten any satisfaction from their designing of my Sim. (Yeah, I like to do it myself.) I totally loved the Showtime EP, and I'm not at all content to not have a singer Sim in my game. I was already toying around with how I might accomplish having a Sim sing for a living. Using the Road to Fame mod gave my Sim the ability to gain fame, and using MCCC would allow me to 'pay' my Sim for their effort. Once Get Famous was announced, I uninstalled RTF. But to my chagrin, a singing career isn't available with that EP. Then another player very kindly let on that there was a newer version of RTF, which allowed for a singer career! I was over the moon. I have also added a touch of 'realism' into my game using three mods from SimRealist: Private Practice (an overhaul of the doctor profession); Mortem, which allows a medical examiner to attend a dead Sim; and SNB & Bills (a wonderful banking system, which allows other Sims in a household to have their own accounts, (great for working Teens, for instance). Then I've taken to using RoBurky's Meaningful Stories; KawaiiStacie's' Slice of Life, and Memorable Events to add a little more depth to my gameplay. I've got a mod to make each season last for 21 days, too. So, yeah, I need the mods. ;)
