Usually I only stop playing a save if the save is no longer working properly, for example the game is lagging, freezing or anything that makes the save unplayable for me. I always wish I could run long family legacy stories but nope, it is very difficult for me as I love managing lots of things like Sims households in the worlds and help with the Neighborhood story aspects by making certain scenarios more likely to happen, such as a married couple getting a new baby in the family, but sometimes I think I stop playing because there are so many Sims/horses/cats/dogs in the save and then I may create a new save and potentially upload some of my progressed Sims to the Gallery so I can re-use them in a new save and start it fresh, an entire alternate universe of new possibilities and storylines
I have to admit I did take the newer saves (I always Save As each playing session) so I could place just those few in a new game folder, which I did very recently. Had I realized there were next to no kids, other than Erik's and Bree's around, I would have done something then. But, yeah, here I sit on a nearly impossible situation. For Pity's Sake Judith Ward just deceased! I suppose I could transplant these save, do a slight rollback and quickly add other Sims w/kids/ teens, et al into the game?
ETA: I do have the save backed up from when Cadence just aged into a Child . . .I just don't wish to have to remove chapters that are already written to fix a timeline.
