At what time will Seasons be released?

This is very disappointing news, If they had left it as it normally is I would have been able to download around 11pm Thursday night, I had planned on downloading and playing some after midnight as I get off work around 10pm. Now I will have to wait until I get home Friday night.

Does anyone know who confirmed the release time? I was also really hoping for midnight on Friday. That's super disappointing. If the game releases on Friday how can they prevent retailers from selling in store until a specific time? I pre ordered on origin, so it doesn't really matter just curious.

If this was a loophole though I might cancel my pre order and sneak to the store at midnight!

In the Seasons Livestream, they did announce the release time to be 10 am Pacific time on June 22nd. However, they have been wrong before. Not all the devs keep up on everything. They eventually decided to just say it will release on the 22nd. The 22nd ends at midnight, Pacific time, so you will have it at latest by then.

One of the Gurus said it before they signed off. Stores will not put it out till the time they are told. Unless you have a friend that works at one maybe?

Oh, I didn't watch the end of the video that's why I missed it! No, I don't have a retail connection I just thought stores must be so busy how could they possibly keep up with what time to release it?

I remember driving to the store at midnight back in TS3 days (when there still were discs!) I'd get to the store a little early and there was always some teenager who thought I was crazy and had no idea what the sims even was. They'd have to go in the back to find it and usually let me buy it a bit before midnight, pretty sure they just didn't care lol! Those were the good ol'days. :D

Yeah it really stinks that they're releasing it so late. I'm hoping they got confused and it comes out midnight Eastern time like expansions always have done. I like getting the pack at 11pm here in Chicago! I really am cranky that I'll have to wait until 1pm!

Um, no... the 22nd begins at midnight. All dates begin at midnight. We are getting it much later than usual.

Um, no... the 22nd begins at midnight. All dates begin at midnight. We are getting it much later than usual.

It is much later. Seems a bit odd. I mean really, it’s just waiting a few more hours in compared to the weeks, days, years (if you count from the release of base game until now) that we’ve been waiting for Seasons. Actually it’s better for me, I would have stayed up all night playing and gotten my sleep schedule totally wrecked. Still, though... it’s odd. Like they pulled a time of day out of a hat and said that was when it would release!

I can’t help but wonder if they misspoke and meant 10 pm PDT (the 21st) as they have done that before (I believe). That way for most of the US it was available by midnight. Don’t want to spread any rumors though, if they said 10 am we’ll just have to accept it unless told otherwise.

I agree. I don’t see how EA would expect to control thousands of employees of retail stores to be that organized.

They don’t sell actual discs anymore, do they? Just codes? Maybe they won’t be able to be activated until the official release, no matter when you bought it.
