banana leaf bbq pit issues

Yeah I have two Sims both lv10 trying to cook on this pit in my home one a celebrity mixologist other celebrity chef neither can make anything but poor quality repeatedly. I was hoping this latest patch would fix this. Lv10 cooking skills & Lv10 in culinary jobs shouldn't result in garbage quality food repeatedly. I literally built my house around this pits location, use & function & now it makes my Sims too ill to use without explanation why or how to fix it. To say I'm livid is an understatement.

Food from the bbq pit does not seem to follow the rules. My sim has the "Fresh Chef" trait, but food she cooks in the pit still spoils (and comes out at Normal quality). Sims who have the ability can use the "Garnish" option to improve bbq pit food to Excellent quality.

Is there a skill regarding using the pit?

I did find that my sim who is a level six cook and generally produces only excellent dishes seems only to produce normal quality food from the cooking pit. I don’t know if that is the same problem or not.

I notice if my Sims are in a bad mood when they cook stuff, regardless of skill, it has a chance of poor quality. :( I have yet to try the pit to know if I have the same issue if they're in green.

I do not believe there is, at least not a visible one.

It seems similar. All three of my sims are level six with regular cooking and always produce poor quality on the pit.

My sims are usually in a pretty good mood when I'm having them cook

Sounds like a glitch

I repaired the game, that didn't help. So I had one of them try cooking at the pit on the community lot. That one came out as normal, so I replaced the pit on the home lot with a new one. now things are prepared at normal. seems that's the best I am getting. They have had no level of improvement, no matter that they have prepared these meals many many times now

Sorta, yeah

I didn’t know about the Fresh Chef glitch. Is there a place to report this problem with the pit? If anything the food from the pit should taste better than normal.

I once had the benefit of eating pork from a pig the had been cooked all day in a pit in the ground (similar to this) and it was unbelievably succulent and delicious. Sims should get the divine dish moodlet from eating some of these dishes (although not tofu turkey— I wish they hadn't included it).

Cooking is one of my favourite activities in the game and I would really like this issue to be fixed.
