Basketball - is there a way to reduce its attractiveness?

My sims seem to be obsessed with the basketball hoop. A couple being extremely flirty might suddenly separate because one of them are running outside to play basketball. No matter what they do the basketball hoop always seem to win their interest.

I know I can simply delete the object, just wanted to check if there is anything I can do to reduce this. Or is there a mod out there to help?

Same actually goes for swimming pools during a snow storm, sims seem to love running outside to take a dip or float on a floater mid Winter... I wish we had a "cover" to close the pool for the cold season. Removing it on every freezing day seems too tedious and is probably not intentional.
