Best place to find crystals?

I recently had a non-scientist character collect all of the crystals. Planet Sixam has special crystal spawners that are more likely to give you rarer crystals. You still have to have Get to Work, but you don't need to be a scientist.

Of course, if you own Get Famous, you can buy most of the crystals online.

Oasis springs has tons (plus the secret lot there has a bunch), if you have outdoor retreat there are quite a few spawners around, if you have ROM you can buy them at the shop in the magic realm, also in the art district of city living you can sometimes find a Sim selling them at a table by the food booths.

I played my game yesterday. To my surprise I ran into digging spots wherever my sim went. Can't recall fin ding crystals in Chestnut Ridge earlier, but now there were numerous. I should add that this is happening without installing the latest two patches, and without Crystal Creations SP either ;)

My point is that there must be plenty of dig sites around the worlds that I never cared much about, but now that I search for them they are everywhere :) Crystals can be found in CS, although the horse pack had no relation to gems at all, I think, meaning most worlds should have them.

I have found a dig site in chestnut ridge as well. I am playing on last month's patch. I haven't noticed many but some worlds do have them. I also found one or two frogs per neighbourhood in chestnut ridge, very convenient for my vampire.

A few questions:
The crystal spawners from buy-debug work out, so you can dig them actually? Sounds interesting... when digged, are they gone and you have to place new ones, or do they appear every Sim day?
Where to get the Science lab? Do you have to join the science career or is there another possibility?

Also I face the problem that in Willow Creek, EVERY gemstone spawner is gone, nothing appears / spawns at all. The same goes for the plants... I know you can cut the plants off so they're gone, indeed, but my Sim never did this and I don't think, other Sims can do that when not controlled? But anyways, that's just for the plants, so how comes there is NO spawner for crystals and stuff in Willow Creek? Windenburg also seems to be broken. I got still plenty of spawners and plants in Oasis Spring, though, but Newcrest is quite empty as well... is there any bug being reported?

Yes, my residential rental (where my main Sim is living in) is located exactly there, right next to the canal and I KNOW (because I have seen them in earlier saves) that there are supposed to be crystal spawners but at least in that particular save nothing appears, in any neighborhood from Willow Creek. Same goes for plants in Willow Creek and both, plants and rocks in Windenburg. I'll have yet to check the other saves if they are facing the same problem. If yes, I'll see if a new save also messes that up.

Thank you for the explanation about the science career. I guess I'll have to start that one over soon. Never been to Sixam as well, so there is quite something to do for Artie :lol:

Hi @Breathe_No_More are you spending at least one full simday in the neighborhoods that appear empty? It takes time for the sites to spawn/respawn and it doesn't happen when you don't have the neighborhood loaded.
I am not sure, but I think that spawning sites can sometimes be frog logs, so if you have frog logs you could try searching for frogs and then seeing if it respawns as a digsite later.

For Willow Creek there are definitely a few digsites by the cliff in between Oakenstead and the Spencer-Kim-Lewis house, on the bottom (Oakenstead) side of the cliff.

Like mentioned above, my Sim lives there (Willow Creek, canal neighborhood) and I have played (too) long :dizzy: today, ...well let's say I had a couple of Sim days passing by and nothing appeared :disappointed:
The frog places are there, but they are at places where I have always remembered them to be. But when I get back to the game I'll take a look at them and see if it helps them digstones to grow ;)

Same goes for the plants, they re gone. Not have fallen to the ground when one can cheat them and wait for a Sim day to pass by to harvest (if in season, but well, you can also cheat this, no?). There is just literally nothing. :(
