Birthday Cake Problems

If no one answers I'll be finding out later today. I have a teen who is getting ready to age up in a couple of sim days. I'll be throwing her a small birthday party. I don't have any mods.

I had this problem just last night. I have lots of mods/CC. I solved it by exiting the game, then using another cake to age up.
I'm not sure if this was the issue, but which cake are you using? I failed with the blue cake and was successful with your standard chocolate.

I have tried the white cake and the sugar free coconut cake. I didn't realize it could be an individual cake problem. Next sim that goes to age up I'll try a different one and see which is working. I'll try the chocolate last since that one worked for you.

Thank you. I would greatly appreciate that. If you don't have any issues then its gotta be a mod I have installed. Which then I can go through and see.

Is your game up to date? If you're not sure go on Origin and click update. The bug you are mentioning is an old one from like November-December. It was fixed in an update since then, so it could be you need to update.

If your game is up to date and you still have the bug you should try making a new save and see if the bug persists. If yes, please make a bug report on AnswersHQ.

My sim just had her birthday, chocolate cake in case your wondering. She had no issues aging up after blowing out the candles.

I'm currently having a birthday party in game and my toddler aged up with no problems.

There was a bug last November with Sims not aging when blowing out candles but it was fixed in one of the December patches. I don't think there's been anything like that since.

There are also some special Sims in the game who don't age because they have special traits that prevent it. This includes Baby Ariel and Alex Moyer, and probably a few others.
