Bitter sentiments... be aware.

It seems that bitter sentiments stick around permanently and cause unjustified meanness from sims. For instance my sim cheated on her husband (by my doing and won’t ever do it again) and long after the bitter sentiment “caught cheating” went away her husband is incredibly mean to her now. Don’t know how to remedy the problem.

Click on the sim -> MC Command Center -> MC Cheats -> Cheat Sim Info -> Mood/Buff Control -> Remove Buff:

Scroll through the list of buffs to find anything related to the sentiment or meanness.

Caution: clicking on a buff will remove it. Just a heads up so you don't accidentally remove one.

Hero!!! Also didn’t explain the real situation going on because I’m afraid people wouldn’t understand (it’s story based). It wasn’t her husband but one of the many lovers I wanted her to have. Tried to get the player trait along side with it.

If she cheated on him how is it unjustified though?

Yeah, you’re right. But gone on for so long is kinda annoying. Even after she apologized.

Have you focused on their relationship? Have her work extra hard, going out of her way to hold conversations. Maybe she should ask him out on a date? I do know couples can get over such transgressions, but the road back to a great relationship takes a lot of work. It's the whole trust issue thing. Or, you could try to roll back the save, as was mentioned,.

I think your scenario is justified. I mean, if my husband cheated on me, there's no way I would ever get over it and be nice to him ever again.

But I have one I think isn't justified. It was a mom and son. I don't even know what caused the sentiment to develop, but she was upset every time she was in the same room as him. I could not change it with any interaction. She rejected any kindness and they would both autonomously do mean interactions with each other. She was basically heartbroken every time she was in the same room as her kid. That felt awful. I abandoned that save not long after due to a different issue, but he eventually aged up and they never had a good relationship after that.

I kind of like that one of my sims had a strained relationship with her kid, but as a player of a game, there should be something I could do to change it. I agree with you there.

I’ve had the same with now two of my sims and their toddlers. In one save, the mother has got the hurt moodlet for two of her daughters which means she’s sad every time she interacts with them. Then yesterday, in my other save, the father tried to comfort his toddler son, who got really mad at seeing a new sibling, and the son rejected him, resulting in the moodlet. As a result, their relationship bar nosedived. Good to know there’s a cheat to get rid of it because it’s really annoying to play.

With how my story is going I think I might just let it pass. She has several lovers currently and I am trying to get the player trait. I probably should have explained the actual situation because it’s a complicated story. But I do want her to be much closer to one single lover than the others.
