I'm not invalidating your feelings and I totally understand where you're coming from but I think this whole 2020 race situation is being blown out of proportion. Possibly from everything going on in the world right now.
I have loved and played games since i was a little child and 90%of games being japanese and me being south Asian I have never once saw a character that looked like or represented me or my color or culture. But over the years I have bonded with those characters I have laughed and cried with them (looking at you FFX and older rpgs) and went on a journey with them because the gameplay and storyline were so deep and meaningful to me. And I was just having mindless fun!!!!
I feel the the sims mentioning inclusivity has opened up a can of worms and people are taking it the wrong way. Bad marketing on their part.
I could start campaigning now wHeRe aRe alL oF tHe soUTh AsiaN characters?!! We come in a variety of looks and skintones and I don't see it! Only one or two saris that represent my culture! But what I did instead was used the tools they provided to make a few of my own south asian characters as well as cc for more south asian inspired items. But usually I don't even think of race when I play the sims. That's never what it was meant to me about
It's literally impossible to cover every since race and culture. And I personally want them to put their time and effort into personalities, emotional overhauls, gameplay for kids. Fear emotions etc etc all the things that will make me laugh and cry with my sims as games of old did. And graphics of old games were seriously lacking, characters were often ugly but the story and gameplay made it worth wild!!
I know race is a sensitive subject hope you understand I'm not trying to say your feelings doesn't matter! ?
