Bringing back the *Small Details*
Long story ridiculously short: My sim was chilling with his yoga group in the yard, posing up a storm in perfect sync when the memory of sims 2 and yoga on the coffee table crossed my mind and I looked at my yoga mat confined Sims and thought to myself "Wish we could do yoga anywhere like we used to, I miss the coffee table poses"
Random, yes, incredibly so, however it got me remembering a good amount of small details from the old Sims games and yearning to have those animations, abilities, moves and such back, yes for most simmers these things are worthless and pointless and just mean less time working on packs, but for me it's nostalgia, for probably a few simmers, its nostalgia, it's the early days of sims when we could do yoga on tables, dance on counters, body slam a burglar and become the ultimate occult hybrid, just the small, minute details that made the game so fun and worth missing now we have the most recent instalment of the sims series where many of those features have been taken out.
I'm pretty sure we have more plumming Easter Eggs than we do secret/non automatic animations!
What I am saying is, when they're not working on bugs or packs or what have you, can the gurus, Dev team, creative board, consider patching in these old features, yes they're small and probably hold no reason for being, but as a simmer whose been obsessed with this game since they were young (I started simming when i was 6/7), can this be a possibility? Can this simmer have some of that nostalgia back?
Obviously I'm grateful for aliens, those were a big part of my childhood (Yes being obsessed with male pregnancy and aliens as a small child is pretty strange but hey, no judgement) and having them in the sims 4 is a Plum send, but as much as i love replaying my smaller days in the curious household, helping the brothers raise their adorable space babies, I also loved all the tiny details and weird options that were only there if you knew what to click and look for.
As a Simmer whose been here since the sims 2 speaking on the behalf of them-self and other nostalgia loving simmers, can we have some of the nostalgia and weird secrets back? From sims 1, 2 and 3. I want it all!
Obviously there is a lot more that I'm leaving out, either from lack of memory or just plain good old brain not working! so if anyone can fill in the gaps with their own nostalgic memories and wishes, please comment down below.
As much as I want new content (That works), I also want old content that made the older games so much fun.
Now I think about it, some of the old machines from the sims 2 aspirations shop would be nice too, or those crazy old torture machines that were used on Nervous Subject.
I'm gonna leave this here and hope other Simmers can give with a hand with naming the older features that aren't in the sims 4.
