I voted Moodlet but to be honest I shouldn't have voted for either. Some of them only add emotion and I would refer to those as moodlets, whereas others add not only emotion but also give extra effects (like skill gain boosts and whatnot) and those I would call buffs. I wasn't aware this was heavily debated.
I think referring to them all as buffs is silly though, because some of them add negative effects and in every video game I've ever played, a buff is something positive.
Much debated between me and friends, hence why I asked the forums what ya'll thought.
*******
I call them both, but I know they are buff's by EA's standard (hence the cheats are "remove_all_buffs" etc) but I played Sims 3 and am used to calling them moodlets, too. And the moodlet solver in the rewards is not titled buff solver LOL :D
Plus, I think of some as buffs, like the base ones. Sad from missing a birthday, or inspired from taking a shower, or confident from brushing teeth, etc and I think of the boosting ones as moodlets, though I'm sure that's not the "correct" way of looking at it, it's just how I call them.
I just think it's interesting to see what everyone calls them. To be honest, I don't think either is wrong. It's our game, we can call them what we want.
