Sorry, I thought you were trying something else.I never thought of that for a roof before, I do like it though. I am going to have to try it. I looks like they made a corridor room, down the center and used the half-gable roof to meet just under the top of the walls. Floored off the top of the building. The top part of the wall showing could have a dark brown boarder around the top. It gives me some ideas now.

It is actually two roofs. The first is the hipped roof, where the windows and such are, the secondary roof is the half gabled roof, laid flat so it falls under the window. You then can have the two separate roof shingles, one for each piece.

@Gruffman did you mean the edge of the roof under the dormers? i was confused about the big flat piece in the center of the roof, thanks tho.

yep, that is the exact issue i am having.
they aren't needed as living space, but they are needed to make the build not look so plain. i am going to try the deco dormers once i get back to it, but if they don't mesh well (and i don't have high hopes for them) then i'll start looking for another house.

the white part is actually a white roof border, not a wall.

Well I'd say did a pretty good job!!! I do have to ask though. Do you know you can change the height of the roof to match the height of the walls? It can be a bit tricky at times though. Still I think you did great job. FAR better than my first go at it!!!
