Can’t carry toddlers when hiking?

There's a lot of talking with hand gestures when hiking, and carrying toddlers was probably interfering.

And, tbh, I wouldn't carry a toddler on a hike without a backpack carrier... or a wagon... or a stroller. They get heavy after a while (I had to carry one up a several story tall spiral staircase to exit from a cave tour once. It was the only not-fun part of the experience.)

I don’t have snowy escape so I can’t experience this personally, but I would be bummed too. Toddlers already can’t be included in so many events and activities that it must have been nice to bring them on a hike even if realistically you wouldn’t want to carry one that long. I just got seasons and I was bummed that toddlers can’t do a lot of the holiday interactions, especially going to special services. Like why does my toddler have to go to daycare when the rest of my family goes to Christmas “church” lol?

Who carries a toddler in their arms while hiking? My arms would fall off after a few minutes.

They need to add a stroller or carrier to the base game, I'm so tired of my toddlers getting left out of things.... @SimGuruGnome

While yes, it's definitely a workout, I've carried toddlers while hiking, and walking marathons. They don't walk themselves for long, and we don't leave them behind, so you just build those arm muscles. Maybe carrying toddlers should just boost the fitness skill, or be available after you've gained a few levels of it.

I see people carrying toddlers while hiking all the time.

To be fair when I brought a toddler it wouldn’t even let me include her in the hike which was unfortunate. I didn’t even know this was a thing until I read the patch notes

So can they not go on hikes with you now?

Yes we need this and also I would love to see other toddlers out with their families at parks and other suitable community lots.
