Can change traits but sim still gets tense from old trait I removed?

So I don't see anyone else talking about this so lets say I want to edit a sims traits, either my own or the pre-made ones. I switch out a trait for something else, but when I resume playing that sim,...

The "safest" way to remove traits, is the Re-traiting potion. If the traits are cheated away, you'll likely have residue which will give the tense/whatever moodlet from the removed traits. I've not had any problems with the potions.
