Can families form a band?

I knew you could have 4 instruments played in Sims 3. Those would be Guitar, Upright Bass(it is just called a Bass in Sims 3 but I have seen it and it looks like a double bass), Keyboard, and Violin.

In sims 4 you have everything except the bass. Sure, you have fancy looking electric guitars but as far as I know, in Sims 4, they are played and sound the same as your regular acoustic guitar. So no sense having 2 guitarists if both guitars sound the same.

But I was wondering, can families form their own band? Would be neat if I could see a large family playing for example Jazz together or a relatively small family playing Rock music together.

Of course this would mean adding these instruments to Sims 4:

Saxophone
Trumpet
Trombone
Tuba
Drums
Flute
Clarinet
Banjo
Viola
and
Cello

Those are the instruments besides guitar, Bass, piano, and violin used in Jazz.
  • If you have the Get Together expansion pack you could try creating a club and selecting play an instrument as the club activity. I've never chosen that activity but maybe your family club could perform for other sims?
  • This is near the top of my wishlist. I'd also like to be able to stage theatrical shows.

That’s a real good idea @simgirl1010. Because I don’t think they have play together interactions in TS4 like they used to in TS3.
Course, if all Sims are active/playable/part of the household you could probably make them play together. Jam action would probably be good for that.
  • I used to have my Cantrell family jam together. Dad on Grand Piano; eldest son on drums (we don't yet have drums in Sims4); Second son (my singer Sim) on guitar, usually acoustic, with the third son on bass. It was wild, fun and a total fulfillment of what I needed for this family. They're only slightly hamstrung in Sims4. :'(
