Can I get a toddler back after it has been taken away?

I don't think so. I think the game deletes them if they're taken away.

At least it was taken away. I remember leaving my Sims do their thing while I went to take a shower and make dinner. When I got back, my kid had just died on a fire because he was using the science table. I could not believe how tragic it was, they were all crying, I felt so guilty. :/

Unless you have mccc installed and the setting to allow neglected kids to be adopted, the toddler was deleted by the game. Reverting to an old save is the only way to get them back.

Oh bummer and note to self no science table when I finally have sim kids. Thanks for the heads up and my deepest sim sympathies.

Oh Man! That's horrible! I've never had a toddler die, or taken away for that matter. I was surprised how sad I was. I ended up just going back to a previous save.

It's pretty lame that you had a nanny and still lost your toddler. I think I'd delete the nanny.

Yea I've had bad luck with the help. I had one that wouldn't do anything but make Mac & Cheese, watch TV, and socialize. She would also take my toddler out of her highchair as soon as i put her in it. She wouldn't leave even after being dismissed and fired. Another nanny wouldn't evenr come inside. She would just hang out on the porch or back deck even though all doors were unlocked...... I also have a really old butler that doesn't do anything unless he is tasked to do it. Then when he does, he takes forever to complete the task. He seems to do well with watering the garden though.

I know this is an old post but i wanted to get it out there what i did. I was attempting the 100 baby challenge when my oldest was taken away. I didnt use any mods just whats already built in the game.I had activated 'testingcheats true' then activated 'cas.fulleditmode' i dont know if these need to be active but they were on mine. Unfortunately i saved about ten seconds before she was taken, i tried everything but nothing could avoid it so, I loaded up that save, then managed the family from the neighbourhood (In neighbourhood, click on house, click three dots, click manage household, click edit, should be the third one across) and i deleted her. I then entered the household and added the father to the family went back into the neighbourhood and back into edit then added a new sim it should come up with an option of an entirely new sim or use genetics, i used the genetics then shaped her to be as close as possible to the original child. I then went back into the household and removed him from the family, and it was just like before. My sistuation was unique in the coincindence of when i happened to save but maybe this will help someone else. Good luck!!!
