Can I plant fruit trees outside of planter boxes?
I am trying to plant apple and banana trees, but when I place on ground and then click the only option is to eat them.

1) are you sure it's bare ground and not grass tiles?
2) is it winter?
Those are the first two reasons I can think of why your sim wouldn't be able to plant. I plant trees (and herbs, and vegetables, and fruits) in the ground all the time.
