Can you get better builders that are lesser known to be doing builds in packs?

This was a discussion on twitter and reddit, as I always was rather disappointed since I do tire of the same youtubers you get to do builds since they aren't really dedicated builders. Was happy you guys got people like Freezerbunny and Devon Bumpkin to do builds as there's is tops.

No offense to them, but their builds are usually pretty basic if not generic? Especially when they do more suburban type builds than anything. There's so many dedicated builders out there with such varying range and skills I feel like they get cheated when they aren't highlighted more in the communities. You even see a lot of it throughout the gallery for such astounding builds.

Really hope you guys branch out a lot more in the community even with the smaller gamechangers we don't see or hear about, but they definitely be posting their work. You always seem to use James, Deli, and lilsimsie ALL the time by default with some one other builder thrown in for 'variety'. So many smaller gamechangers that are just dedicated builders and you guys aren't even utilizing them.

I know of restrictions with no moo and etc, but many have been able to make very nice builds without them heavily being necessary.

  • EA builds in the past haven't been perfect in TS4 either. I think some people are forgetting or maybe never noticed but there's been houses and community lots missing doors, toilets, paint, and mismatched roofing. Not a huge deal but I kind of expect the build to be complete. I don't care either way honestly but whoever builds the lot should remember the basics before it's shipped off with the pack.

I will say James Turner did an amazing job building for the Werewolves pack. I may have seen Devon Bumpkins videos suggested to me in the past but I never really checked out their channel until they built for Cottage Living.

i would also really like to see greater diversity in who they choose to build for packs! i know that, from a marketing perspective, it makes more sense to have well-known builders work on packs. i get that. but as a player who owns every pack (except for jtb) & nearly every kit, i'm tired of the same-old, same-old. i want someone new, something fresh. i want others who can build just as well as (often better than) the big names to get the same opportunities that they get.

When they are dealing with the same handful of people over and over, they know that they can quickly update the same old contract and get coroporate approval easily, they know that those builders are likely to actually abide by the terms of those contracts (confidentiality, timely completion for deadlines, etc.), and they know that those builders can follow instructions and take direction. Also, let's not underestimate the importance of being pleasant to work with: if you have to choose between someone you know will respond pleasantly and professionally to feedback, someone you know probably won't, and someone for whom you have absolutely no idea, most people are going to choose the first option.

Yeah, this was immediately where my mind went as well and I think it accounts for quite a large part of the reason they dip into the same pool so often.

I would love to build houses for the Sims. I never like most of the premade houses but there are some amazing exceptions. However, when they do builds for the packs, they are restricted as far as cheats. They can't use them. When doing starter houses, that restricts them even more because then they have too consider cost for starters homes. Check my gallery builds and tell me what you think. They are too expensive for a new family but great for richer families.
  • They have to be fairly basic don't they as they only contain the Base Pack and the one being downloaded? New players won't know anything about cheats either. I've usually hash tagged no cc, no mods etc if I upload to the Gallery. Given up now though as the Gallery is too big.

The Ranch builds are very good I'm finding but I've already added another storey to the one storey ranch, the only one my new family could afford, gutted the ground level and added a basement!

I've saved the original to My Library though and I'd advise everyone to do that with the originals just in case you can't remember where you went wrong in adding to them. Platforms and terrain tools are the culprits in my games!
  • I personally enjoy the game changes builds in the worlds, I was getting so tired of re-building EA's houses. The game changes builds they are 100% better than EA's builds and all the worlds look more inviting with game changes builds. This is my thoughts on this matter. :)
