Cant cook most foods, HELP!

So after the latest expansion pack and update my sims suddenly cant cook most recipes in the game. They start cooking then they stop mid way and wave their hands around like they can't get to the food. I removed all mods, repaired my game, cleaned the cache and created a new sims 4 folder and they still cant cook. Is anyone else having this problem and is there a work around? I have tried everything I could find online to try and fix including buying a new stove, selling the microwave, rearranging the kitchen. I have tried everything this is driving me crazy. I hate only using the grill and having quick meals like cereal and stuff. HELP ME!
