Can't get married, time for a fix..

This bug has existed since butlers were added. Why hasn't it been fixed yet? With no employees existing at the household, one sim can't propose, elope or anything else 'marriage related' due to the system thinking the sim being proposed to is an employee. I've tried the so-called workaround about 'just being friends' and re-establishing the romantic relationship. What a waste of time. Didn't work. What an inconvenience.

I'm sure a lot of us are experiencing this issue. Just google 'marrying a sim in your employee would be inappropriate blah blah'.

What is the matter with the development team and manager(s) who just keep putting this off or ignoring it entirely. Patch after patch, pack after pack, nothing is done about it. Along with so many other frustrating bugs that will still be in the game when they start talking about Sims 5, if they are so lucky.

FIX THIS BUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    And, if the other sim does have the option to 'propose', when the time comes to elope or click on the arch to get married, depending on the direction you go, well it doesn't matter because both of these interactions consistently fall off the queue.

    There is a bug and game play issue section for discussion. This isn't listed on the first page there, perhaps start this thread on the bug and game play issue board.

    Hopefully those that monitor bugs and issues look at that section moreso than general.

    The most common solution, FYI, is to remove other romantic relationships. The message seems to be the wrong message for the scenario.

    There is a cheat by which you can clear marriages. It tends to pop up alongside the Make Happy Cheat.

    Glad to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem. I solve it by going cas.fulleditmode and marrying them in CAS. But yes, I agree, they need to fix this.

    I hate this bug.

    My second legacy heir became best friends with Else Bjergsen as a child. Started dating when the two became teenagers and moved in together as young adults. The option to have him propose to her stopped showing up as soon as they were living together :( I ended up cheating to get them married, but it was very disappointing as I had been hoping to get proposal/wedding pictures of them.

    Uh oh -- I just moved my teens in together; I think I'll be able to use MC Command to get them hitched but that means no big wedding for them like I'd planned. Hopefully they'll have a fix by the time the Family GP releases. There's also still the bug where Sims get whims to get engaged and get married to the Sim who is already their spouse; I wonder if that's also related.
