No, this one actually created a new directory in my Sims 4 directory. There was even a readme in the folder the mod installed to, that mentioned it. I just hadn't thought to look at it again when I was removing my mods folder. The readme also mentioned that there are other creators on Curseforge that do the same thing, creating separate folders outside of your mods folder. It is NOT normal for a normal zip file to create a new directory to your Sims 4 folder, outside of the mods folder, and this one did.
This was a mod creator I'd never heard of, but none of the modders I follow have updated their version of that mod yet. I often look at mods through S4S; this particular mod changes a large number of XMLs, and I suspect all of those XMLs have changed with the infant patch, so it's probably pretty time-consuming to update. I'm guessing that the one I downloaded has NOT been updated yet, despite having been uploaded to CurseForge after the patch had been released.
