Can't play my game with CC

Without mods I find the sims unfulfilling. With the last patch my game is completely broken when I try to play with my custom content. I took out all of my CC and placed them back in 20 at a time which took hours considering I have over 2000 articles. The game would start up with 20 cc's at a time and then I found a bad batch of 20 so I took that bad batch and placed them back in the game 5 at a time. They all ran perfectly. When I put my CC all back in the game at once after checking every item, my game wouldn;t start again. I am at a loss as to what to do. Mod conflict program hasn't been updated for a couple of years so that no longer works..I tried it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix my game with cc?

  • When you say you have 2000 mods, do you mean just mods or do you mean mods and custom content? Mods are things that affect gameplay or the UI and custom content encompasses things like clothing, hair, and furniture. The distinction is important because mods are far more likely to break your game than custom content is.

I'm guessing you don't have 2,000 mods and most of it is probably custom content so the first thing you should do is separate the mods from the custom content and remove all the mods. Then see if your game runs without them. If it does then you need to update them (you should check for updates on your mods after every patch anyway)

If it still doesn't work after that, you should do 50/50. Which basically means splitting everything you have in half and testing half of it at a time. If one half works fine and the other doesn't, then you know which half the problem is and you can do it again with that half. This is more efficient than testing 20 files at a time.

You should also clear the cache whenever you add or remove mods to your game, and a repair probably wouldn't hurt either.

Lastly, mod conflict detector works fine. It just isn't meant for this situation.
  • Hi Cupid. Sorry, I meant custom content...I misspoke. I removed all my mods from the game and that didn't seem to work so I did the 20 cc's at a time. It took forever. I did clear the cache as well. mod conflict detector isn't finding the problem so I am at a loss.
