Can't publish books from Eco Lifestyle apartment mailbox?

Has anyone had this come up or is it just a me issue? When I googled it I saw the same issue came up in City Living but I didn't see anything about the current pack. Can I just buy a mailbox and pop it inside the apartment to publish books or do I have to move for now?

Edit: I've figured it out, I'm a complete goober. Didn't realize my sim had to be level 2 writing to self-publish a book. My sims usually get level 2 by the time they finish writing their first book and this is the first time it hasn't happened.
