Carpets

I'm with you on this, it would certainly be nice. All in due time, I hope. As it stands now most of my houses have wood floors.

In my current save they started out with wooden floors but I'm starting to make them more comfortable for the sims, which means carpeted floors in most rooms. I know the sims can't tell the difference, but, having grown up with carpet, I certainly can!

Same. It's like the toilet roll decoration. I know it's not imperative, but I can't stand when it isn't present in my sim's houses.

Yes, this is something that I've noticed with Sims 4. There are so many other floor coverings to choose from but the carpet category is definitely lacking.

I'd really love some more patterned carpets, and some mottled designs. If I had Sims 2 still installed I'd post some screenshots of the designs I liked, but alas, it's not on my PC at the moment.

Agreed. I’d love some more plain carpets with nicer textures than the one from the base game. It’s not bad but I feel like it could be improved. Some more swatch options would be great too.

Yes and no for me. I can't stand the stuff myself in my own dwellings (got enough of it when I was a kid) and they have almost gone the way of the dodo bird in where I live. The chiq thing today are either parket flooring; fake and real or just ordinary floors like linoleums. If I encounter carpets nowadays its usually only in apartments and housings where the elderly live or in the communal area in apartment housings like the stairwells or at work places (offices and such) and institutions (hospitals and nursery homes).

I'm afraid I find I have the same attitude when it comes to my decoration in game. I use carpets very sparingly and very rarely corner to corner. I find carpets useful when creating rugs that have to be bigger than the traditional ones found ingame. I have downloaded a few user created carpets though.

I am very disappointed in the carpet options in game. I know carpet is the unpopular opinion (in life and sims) but I like it, and prefer it (in life and in sims lol).

I agree with you. Options are lacking. I really, really wish we could have something like the Homecrafter from Sims 2 where we could easily create our own floors and walls. Oh, and as for walls, I have no idea why they haven't made some modern, glass tiled back splashes to be used in the kitchen just behind the cabinets. It really annoys me. LOL

I'd like more colors and textures. The base game originals are fine, but some of them just look dirty and nearly all the base game ones are some pale off-white or pastel color with the exception of red I think. I'd love some funky 60's style shag carpets! :)
