I build mine based upon real structures, from Southern plantations to English country homes. I try to replicate the interiors as accurately as possible, and as new expansions and CC comes out I periodically go back and update anything that is not exact if I can. My normal family to play as is the Marquess and Marchioness of Waddesdon (or the peerage of Ailesbury/Aylesbury) with their two children (who live in a neighbouring country house), the Dowager Marchioness, a butler, the Major Domo, Chef, Maid, and Valet. Then another household features the prison where the baddies get sent.
