CC clothes & Seasons

One of the gurus recently answered a tweet saying that CC clothes would work, but no one knows if he means future CC or current CC. I’m wondering if we might be able to tag things ourselves in game to work with the seasonal weather changes (meaning most current CC could stay working). For example, currently you can remove filters to let your Sim wear a bathing suit as formal wear etc. It would be great if we could do that type of thing for the new clothing categories as well.
  • according to one of the Grus that the CC clothing wouldn't break since the clothing will keep your sims hot/cool

It was confirmed theres a cold and hot category in CAS so if you put on a bikini under the cold weather category it will keep them warm. That's my understanding from what they've mentioned of it.

I hope that’s the case, it would be fantastic for story telling purposes. I wonder how the other clothing categories will work now too? For example will a Sim overheat at an outdoor summer wedding, or will the formal wear category give no effect?

i dont think outfit categories like shorts or jackets would be considered warm, cold, neutral as a whole. where would you put all pants, shoes, hats...

likely it is a tag for especially light or warm clothing only, all cc considered neutral. i doubt it but it would be great if we can change the tag on clothes ingame.
my hope is that its a mix and match system anyway, so the more warm items you wear the better protected you are against cold, same for summer clothes no overheating for wearing a baseball cap.

while i like the idea of simply saving a warm and cold outfit its impractical as the npcs need categorized items to not act too weird with this freedom.

shorts-to keep cool in summer. Jackets=warm to keep you warm.

I kind of hope it works like the bathing suits, NPCs/game made townies wear items from the filter, but when you edit them or make your own Sims you can remove the filters.
  • We’ll see. Might end up waiting for a big batch fix with sims 4 studio. That’s what I’m prepared for anyway, with all CC and not just clothing/CAS

I believe the tweet was referring to current cc based on the question that prompted it (which was a relief to me). I agree with @drake_mccarty that the existing tags will likely play a big role.

This is my reading of it too. Custom harvestables are going to break, though.

This would be great for me since the small amount of CC I have are just CAS items. I have a few couches I can live without, and the two mods I use are usually updated quickly. In all honesty I’ll be fine as long as I can keep my wedding attire, MM hair, and MCC, everything else I can live without just fine.
