Changing a Sim in CAS and Life States question

Is there a way to bring a Sim back into CAS (via the cheat to do so), and make them an other than "normal" Sim? Like turn them into a mersim or a magic user, etc.? I know how to create a sim in CAS as other than a 'normal' Sim. But how do I bring a Sim back into CAS, after they're already made, and make them into a magic user, say?

  • Good question. I wanted to turn a Sim into a ghost in CAS and I couldn't figure out how to do it. I thought maybe it wasn't possible. Maybe you can only make an occult Sim through gameplay? It would be awesome if we could though. It would make it easy to customize other premades and turn them into ghosts, vampires, mermaids.

Not as far as I know. When I've made Bella Goth and Nancy Landgraab spellcasters, I did so through cheats.
  • @Elliandre it IS possible to make, when you originally create a Sim, to make them into an "occult sim" at that time, yes *Nods* I made a mersim that way, I have loads of fun just watching her, they did SUCH a good job making the mersims! I love the mersim "cooing" that they do sometimes. Made me laugh my bottom off, the first time I saw/heard her do it! They sound like a dolphin, it's awesome!

But, I don't know how to bring an already made Sim, back into CAS, and turn them into an other than normal sim there.

    Help, anyone? Please?
  • @DaWaterRat sorry! I didn't even see your response when I was responding to Elliandre!

Well bleh! I'm really bummed if that's the case. But thank you for telling me!
  • @DaWaterRat ....Mind if I ask how it was you did that? Like what did you use for cheats, to turn them into spell casters?

Are you on PC/Mac or Console? Because I don't know how you use cheats on a console. The other way to do it is to let the MCCC mod cheat for you, but I know that's not available for consoles.

Open the cheat window (I know it has another name - command window? Console window?)
    TestingCheats on

    Then
    traits.equip_trait trait_Occult_WitchOccult

I love the mermaids too!! <3 They crack me me up when they start making that dolphin shrieking sound, I think that's what we are talking about? It has to be lol. What are they doing? Are they calling other mermaids? The dolphins? And I also really love how their tales flap about in the tub if you give them a bath

EDIT: And their singing! It's so pretty lol
  • @DaWaterRat I'm on a PC. And thank you so much for telling me that cheat!

@Elliandre personally, I think they do it just because they're happy, heh. And yeah, the tail flapping in the bathtub IS cute too!
    Their singing is beautiful, yes!
  • I use MCCC and i have CAS full edit on by default along with debug cheats, this way i don't have to keep exiting to manage worlds to get into a household to edit, i can just go it from a dresser or modify in CAS by MCCC, from there i can readily change everything about a sim. Exactly as Dawaterrat hinted at.

With the debug i only need to shift click a sim to change other settings on a sim, but even then MCCC doesn't have all the reach i'd like and in some cases bringing up the cheat console is sometimes the best way to go.
