Changing gender for your child in CAS question

As far as I know I cant influence the child's gender . I read some people just change the sex to what they want in CAS . I was wondering how this works. Does it just create some random child? or does it change the gender properly to what the kid would have been like if it was the other gender? It's cool seeing what your kids look like compared to there parents , is changing the gender in CAS a good option?

That wasn't patched in at the time this thread was posted I think. :D But thanks for the info anyway. :)
  • The only way to change the gender of your toddler is to edit in CAS. The way you do that is ctrl+shift+c, then type testingcheats true, then enter. Then type cas.fulleditmode, then enter. Then shift click your sim and click modify in CAS. Then click on your toddler and change the gender.
  • As others have said on this thread, it doesn't create a new child, but instead just replicates the child you've already created but female or make, depending on the original gender. And, by saving the game prior to changing the gender, you can go back if you wish.
