I just loaded my game back up, and as of last night, my sim couple had an infant son who SEEMED to have all his needs met. When I loaded today (middle of the sim-night), he was lit up green.And then suddenly I get a notification that he's been whisked away due to neglect, and some bull-phooey about trying a goldfish before trying parenting again.WHAT THE HECK, SIMS 4?! I wasn't neglecting the little dude! His needs were met! :( You need to make it possible to look at infant needs so we can avoid this, because CLEARLY a green aura around his portrait doesn't actually indicate that he's doing well.

Had you check out his diapers and stuff? He could have just been forced to be happy by emotional aura objects.

There should at least be a warning or something before they just take them away!

I got a warning on mine that I wasn't feeding him enough. He wasn't crying, so how was I to know? I was kind of paranoid about possibly overfeeding him because so many have reported rather rotund children. Not that I have anything against fat kids--I was one myself--but I didn't want to start a lifetime of bad habits, you know? ;-)Anyway, sorry little dude got taken :-(

When my little one aged up last night, his hunger was bottomed out. I was super afraid he was going to die or be taken, no warnings or anything. His little icon was green and he wasn't even crying before I aged him up.

Closed my game without saving and reloaded. I even slowed down time to normal instead of leaving it on 3 (since both parents were sleeping, it automatically kicked it up to ultra speed), and kept an eye on the kid. He wasn't crying or anything, just kicking around happily in the bassinet. As soon as his mum woke up, I sent her to feed him and do all the various socials with him, but before she could even get to the bassinet, I got the notification again: "Due to neglect, Ace is being whisked away to safety. Maybe you should consider a goldfish before jumping into parenthood again."There should DEFINITELY be a warning first. :(Now to close without saving and open again ... this time I'll wake the mum up and feed him and play with him before it can take him away.

I had this problem too! I got a pop up saying that my sim's baby would be taken away if he wasn't fed ASAP, yet his picture was green and he wasn't crying at all. I guess they don't cry when they're hungry, which is really quite weird.

I have never had a child taken away for not going to school for 26 Generations in sims 3 and 4 Generations now in Sims 4.
I am heading for another 26 generations, As I do the A-Z generations and in Sims 4 I have recreated my family from Sims 3 and continuing on.
No one will be going to school. Hope I make it.
You can Home School in the USA, I am a advocate for Home Schooling, I think it its the best thing. They gather together with other home schooler's for field trips and activities.

In Sims 2 I think it was, I had a sim and it was so hard to get her to take care of the baby, well the social worker took the baby, I was so mad about that.
Well I had her get pregnant again, Only this time when the baby was born, I put her and the baby in a room and took out the door. I put a bed and a table and chair, Ref, toilet, shower and ect. I then made her take care of the baby until he grew to a toddler.
The Father went crazy, trying to get to her. but guess what they did not take the baby this time.

That is horrible yet funny at the same time and I like my little Sim ones. I'm surprised we can't feed our fish to the cow plant.

I thought that is a bug? Because sometimes my babies cry and get the blue moodlet... then I go and feed them... and they are green again. So I think they are supposed to cry when they are hungry.

But it happens to me all the time. I get the warning at least once with every baby because the baby just didn't cry. Sometimes I get suspicious when the baby hasn't been crying for several hours and I feed it before anything can happen. Just another bug, I guess.

Did you shoosh the baby by any chance?

This has happened to me once or twice too. The baby was apparently Ok and I got a notification that I was neglecting him and social services would come. I found that this happened after I shooshed the baby (maybe a coincidence?). Maybe when you shoosh them, they no longer cry and their hidden bars go down without the baby letting you know about it...

The wonder child challenge (as most challenges) do allow using cheats to fix bugs, so the only thing that worked for me with a similar bug was to use manage household to split up the family. Move out the child with one parent, then play the remaining parent for maybe a sim hour. Call and invite the parent who moved out over, ask to move in and merge the households again. That worked for me (Moving them in again without playing the remaining household a bit first did not help).

I usually keep my babies in the main playing area and not a nursery in a different part of the house. That way I hear them crying. If they have been sleeping and wake up I have someone check on them.

My Sim had just adopted a baby, and she had taken care of all the things it would need before going to make herself something to eat. Then, the game thought I wasn't taking care of it, so it took her away! They need a warning, really. I haven't had any other kid taken away, but still, that got me mad. I had to waste 1000 dollars adopting another child for her. It doesn't help that if I have a mother who's an author, and her baby is crying, she has to keep writing five more chapters before she can get up and feed them or change their diaper.
