Chilly ghosts--can they actually freeze a Sim to death??

Doesn't Honey (and honey-food like Honey Cake/Tea) give you a buff/moodlet that makes the sim temporarily immune to the effects of extreme temperatures?
It can help to have some honey on-hand in that case, as an emergency temperature normalizer.
