City Living or Cats and Dogs?

I'm trying to figure out which one to buy. I'll probably get them both eventually, but for the time being.
Which one do you like better? Which one would you like better? I'm having serious problems figuring out which one to get.
I own all other expansion packs.

  • I personally like cats and dogs better. City living is fun if you like to build though. How is island living? I am hoping to buy it soon??
  • City Living hands down. Apartment life is never boring, the premades are awesome (Miko Ojo and Penny Pizzazz are amazing), and FESTIVALS. Omg I cannot gush about festivals enough. It is by far a better pack than Cats and Dogs. Cats and Dogs is super underwhelming because you can't even play as your pets (Ahem Sims 3 was incredible for this feature). Besides adding a new world which is pretty, there is no purpose in having Cats and Dogs added to your game imo.
  • I have both, I personally like cats and dogs better, because to me it makes the game more realistic and entertaining. I also really like how Brindleton Bay looks, I loved building things there. I love all the build mode items as well, they look very country-like. I think though, it just depends on your personal preference though when it comes to choosing between the two of them. Do you like the country or the city better?

I would reccomment Cats And Dogs first. It'll definitely give you plenty to do until you've finished saving for your next EP. A couple of pets hugely deepen your world.

The Cats And Dogs world is also much larger than City Living.
  • City Living. I love Cats & Dogs, but City Living comes with so much amazing stuff that I play that pack more often then Cats and Dogs.

What are your thoughts so far?

Brindelton Bay and San Myshuno are my two favorite worlds for played households (Sulani and Windenburg being my other two favorites though mostly for community lots).

At first I thought, for family play, pets is the better option, but I do think there's an interesting challenge to living in apartments. And it's a nice change of pace from the other worlds. While pets are kind of essential for me, there's definitely more to do in City Living.
  • ask yourself do you want to live in apartments in a city. go to festivals. have a singing skill

City Living is better, in my opinion. I just personally find that it gave me more that appeals to me. Cats & Dogs is fine if you really want sim animals, a hidden occupation, and a new world. I never made one of my sims a vet yet.
  • Can someone tell me why I no longer have the option to deface the City Living murals?
  • Brindleton Bay is so much prettier & bigger than San Myshuno. The CAS & objects in Cats & Dogs are warmer & cozy.

Warning: City Living will bring on the weird fashion police event tourist outfits in all your worlds.

Unfortunately, San Myshuno isn't the beautiful Bridgeport.
