Am I the only one missing the cleaning skill? We had it in TS2, not sure about TS3. It felt right that some sims were better than others at cleaning (doing it faster), even if not having the Neat trait. I mean, all those sims not having a Neat trait can't be equally bad at cleaning anyway?Cleaning might sound like a boring chore, but our sims do it all the time, and for stay at home sims it would be good building some skills like this. I think Cleaning pairs fine with Cooking and Parenting.

Oh, I miss it too! Especially every time I see how long it takes sims to clean up some of the messes, and I wish they could learn to do that faster without me having to buy them a reward trait or making them neat - because neat sims are a nightmare, constantly complaining about dirt that isn't even there! It wouldn't have to be a full 10-level skill either, 5 would be enough, and it could be a promotion requirement for some of the careers as well, such as gastronomy and the ones from GTW.

Besides, it would be more interesting to clean if I knew my sim was building a skill by doing it, LOL. I hate cleaning in RL, but I like my sims to do everyday chores like that. I even wish they would need to make their bed, mostly because a not-made bed would tell something about the sim living there, it's a visual aspect that I appreciated in TS3. And I'm pretty sure making a bed did add to the cleaning skill.

It would certainly go hand in hand with other existing aspects in the game. It would pair pretty well with the laundry pack for instance. Having it contribute to certain careers would also be a nice touch that makes sense.

I was very surprised that there was no cleaning skill, and constantly miss it! I don't know if it was in Sims 3 either, but it was in the first two! I'd love to see it make a comeback.

No, it wasn't in Sims 3 and yes, I miss the Cleaning skill a lot! A Neat trait doesn't cut it for certain character builds. For example myself, I might have the slob trait irl or at least a very low Neat attribute, but I'm very good at cleaning.

I wish they'd bring Cleaning back. But I also wanted laundry and still want lawnmowing, sweeping the floor and car washing, because a lot of real life chores become fun when it's not us doing them, but our sims.

Not really as it never did much to add to the game. I like how some sims get tense when cleaning as that is what cleaning feels like. I never liked chores, I liked goofing off lol.

Speaking of, I am still annoyed that Sims make the bed. I used to make the kids/teens do that. >_>

Besides, it WAS nice seeing the Maid do something else than mopping floor and doing dishes.

Another thing is, there’s not a whole lot of benefit to being a neat sim anymore. They just get really upset when there’s a single dirty dish in their vicinity. It used to be that they were sure to make their own beds and not leave a puddle in front of the bathtub. So I guess I don’t appreciate neat sims as much as I used to in past games. (But that has less to do with the cleaning skill and more to do with how they set up traits)
