Well, err, yeah... but why couldn't they fix it to where sims could side step around another sim, or something like that? This is supposed to be Sims 4, and they're supposed to be smarter sims.
Methinks they could've done a better job.
And a lot of people agree with you, others simply don't really care as long as routing is improved. The no sidestep animation is probably due to spending resources in areas that didn't really need them (walk animations) instead of things that do really matter such as improved routing while still looking presentable.
