But why is this so? It's the same team. Why couldn't it actually be a better, technologically improved AI and routing than this? Doesn't that say something to you?
I mean don't you expect the new game with a new engine to work better than the TS3 engine and crippled AI? Is this the solution? really? Surely, this is one big fat joke.
Surely, these pictures have been taken from an incomplete, earlier build of the game. Surely, most people, including you, are aware of this as it has been said multiple times. Surely, I'd love for my game to work perfectly. Surely, most gamers are aware that clipping is a problem in any 3D game and have accepted that current technology just isn't good enough to get rid of it entirely.
Surely, you can stop twisting what I say.
I never said that it couldn't actually just be "better." I also never said that I didn't have a problem with any clipping. I said in an earlier post that clipping is irritating and I'd rather not deal with it.
The shuffling in TS3 was a result of the AI trying and failing to re-route in order to prevent clipping. One sim would go through a door, another would try to do so too, but couldn't because the previous sim was in a way, and another sim would show up, and so on and so forth. Next thing you know, you have a bunch of sims standing in front of the door waiting and preventing other sims from getting in. NONE of them would re-route to use another door. They would ALL just stand there doing nothing, meanwhile time still moves forward. In the case of University EP, sims would lose progress on their degree because they couldn't get inside for class. Sims were even prevented from graduating and receiving their diploma because of this. It was a game breaker for me. I love that EP otherwise, but I rarely send my sims to get degrees because of it.
This problem could be fixed with smarter AI, that use other doors if available. Or it could be fixed with sims walking through each other. Either way, your sim isn't missing classes and is attending the ceremony to receive their diploma. TS4 most definitely contains the former. The latter is an issue that may or may not be in the game to any degree because we haven't seen the actual finished game yet.
