Cloning Debug items

Is this possible? It's really annoying to have to track them down every time I want to use them and then constantly pull from the library to reuse

  • I don't think you can clone them in a vanilla game (at least I have not been able to). But I know that Better Build/Buy mod lets you, and not only that it also has an organized Debug that literally groups all liked items together. It's pretty awesome, if you're not opposed to mods.
  • You can clone them with the Realm of Magic game pack. If you don’t want to waste time training your sim you can also use cheats to instantly learn the spell. I hope it works for you
  • As @Chicklet453681 said, Better Build Buy by TwistedMexi is where it's at. I don't think I could build without that mod. Actually, I tried it just last patch and I thought I would go crazy. I went mod free, but that is the one mod I absolutely need. It also doesn't count as a mod so you can still upload as mod free if that matters to you.

Oh really? I've tried it when it was just released and my builds were tagged as modded. I guess it was fixed then?

Yes the original one he said did tag it as CC, or you would have to turn off the debug settings, exit the game, load the game back up and THEN upload to the gallery.

But he said this version there's no need to exit the game before uploading and it will not categorize anything as CC on the gallery.

    That's cool, thank you! :)
  • A workaround to clone debug items without mods is to place these items in a room, save the room to your library and then place that room on your lot.
I have found a room with debug kitchen clutter on the gallery and it works great if you don't want to go through all those debug items to find a specific item.
