This drives me absolutely bonkers! And is one of the reasons I keep my sims busy at all times. Because once I let them loose for one second, its off to the computer or to the stereo to dance. Both options are equally bad. They can't dance and they have better things to do than playing Blic Bloc. I even thought I had those gaming options turned off with MCCC tuner, but seems I didn't catch everything.
Its been going on since before Christmas for me, since I had a break from December to uhh...March, I believe.
ETA: you don't have to reset the sim, giving them something else to do will cancel whatever they autonomously want to do.
