Confidence

I don't understand this emotional state. I'm fishing with a nice bonus to Focus and catch a big fish and focus is gone and replaced with confident which does nothing to help fishing. Then i'm on my woodworking table making some furniture and confident again blowing my focus away and again doing nothing to help me. Same with painting, same with writing, same with mixology. It seems like every time I'm working on something confidence just gets in the way. It doesn't boost anything that spawns it, the only thing it seems to do is overwrite emotional states that are useful. What is the point of it?

Confidence is great for charisma. Sims get confident when they accomplish something they that makes them "proud."

Makes no sense to me that you get a charisma boost that wipes out your other boosts for doing something focus or inspired based.

Yes, but I learned years ago in RL, that if you don't have confidence you're not likely to succeed at much of anything. I view it as a positive trait and get a little kick out of the way my Sims strut about. LOL
  • From the point of view of someone who is skill-building, it makes things more difficult. But from the point of view of someone who's just playing the game normally, it makes sense that they would be proud of themselves after accomplishing something. It also makes it harder to just sit and max out a skill all at once.
  • I funnel that into "bold" pick up lines now. At least on my more deviant play throughs. Waste not, want not.
Yeah it can irritate me .. sometimes I change the lot traits to compensate with skill building.
