This is a good example of one of those things that folks are pretty divided on. So the devs just made a choice and went with it. Perhaps they found it amusing--it can be at times. It did stop me from passing myself off as a long lost cuz of the Landgraabs, to harvest a prized lemon.
IRL, I would let my best friend use my computer, and they have stayed with me, so def showered, and might have even cooked. I cook over at the kids' all the time. So I just cheat it in if the situation calls for it, I don't consider it cheating if it seems legit. :)

My husband and kids aren't allowed on my desktop or laptop, I couldn't imagine a friend helping themselves to my pc's. In this house, we have 4 desktops, and 6 laptops. Everyone has their own stuff, no need to get on anyone else's. And company isn't invited to any of them. That's just off limits to me and past the point of polite.
