This is a good example of one of those things that folks are pretty divided on. So the devs just made a choice and went with it. Perhaps they found it amusing--it can be at times. It did stop me from passing myself off as a long lost cuz of the Landgraabs, to harvest a prized lemon.
IRL, I would let my best friend use my computer, and they have stayed with me, so def showered, and might have even cooked. I cook over at the kids' all the time. So I just cheat it in if the situation calls for it, I don't consider it cheating if it seems legit. :)
traits.equip_trait AlwaysWelcome
My husband and kids aren't allowed on my desktop or laptop, I couldn't imagine a friend helping themselves to my pc's. In this house, we have 4 desktops, and 6 laptops. Everyone has their own stuff, no need to get on anyone else's. And company isn't invited to any of them. That's just off limits to me and past the point of polite.
It's just my own ethos; I didn't mean to imply everyone should have this viewpoint. So sorry if I gave that impression. :)
Oh, no no! I didn't mean it like that. I was explaining why I felt that computer usage should be included in the inappropriate actions. :) No worries. :) Now, I do like having family cook for each other, in which case, I make sure to give my sim always welcome. At least we do have that reward trait for when we do want to do those things :)
