Corner lots "front" defaults

You can pick a door and set it as the front door if that's what you mean?

Omg I know this feeling! I built a home and it turned out the front of the house I built is actually the side of the house! There should be a way to change it, or atleast know which side is the front, sometimes there’s no mailbox to point the way. Also, setting door as front door doesn’t help because sims will only exit or enter through there, they’ll still have to walk to the center of the sidewalk of the real front of the house

You can try to place something like a oddly shaped room or scuplture or stuff and use the save to gallery option. It *usually* take the cover screenshot from the "front" end of that lot.

In case you already built it you may want to try to rotate the enitire lot, then rebuild what's deleted to fit the new layout OR Just leave it be, since it doesn't have very serious impact except that sims can spawn at a distance from the marked front door. (Come to think of it, once the game marked a house's back door as front. Then whenever someone visits they'll need to run all the way to the backyard.)

Yes, I've had this problem quite a lot, particularly when the lot I want to use already has a house. When I bulldoze the house, it takes the mailbox with it, and I can never remember where it was (I have a terrible sense of direction). And, sometimes, the mailbox that the developers placed on the lot is nowhere near the rabbit hole.

It's annoying when I want a wider house with less depth, but the lot is turned the wrong way. My legacy family has been in their current house for about 12 generations (partly because they've collected so much junk valuable curios, I don't even want to think about moving them and having to sort through the household inventory for stuff to keep and stuff to be replaced with shiny new stuff). I placed the house the wrong way, and my kids waste a good half of an hour walking from the rabbit hole to the jungle gym in the solarium.

I'm having the same problem time to time as well. I don't think there's a way to change which side of the lot is front. It's just the way it is by default map design of the game. You can choose the front door whereever you want but it won't change where sims will spawn when you load the lot. They will always spawn in the default "front" side.

@LindsaySeddon1 By the way, there's this empty 40x30 lot in Windenburg called "the summer home". That lot's front is actually the long side of the lot. You can place your house there.

I was going to say basically what @LibertyTheFree just said, that does work and shows you which way is the front of the home. I've built a few times(and thankfully didn't get too far into the build before I check out what it looks like(by hitting the save to gallery button..but not actually saving it)and the entire home was turned around.

Can you go into build mode and rotate the lot itself - might be a bit fiddly, but if you place something where you can easily identify the four different sides, it might work?!
