They're a similar style but different enough in design to be two sets. Tbh I think some of the existing sets are more similar than these two. We have multiple modern sets, why not multiple rustic sets?
Also the cottage living one looks much more stylized and has more details on it. The cupboard designs, the pillars on the corner and island curve, etc. whereas the kit is much simpler, just plain wood and looks probably much cheaper. Also the stove/fan and fridge are super different, the kit is just more rustic and the stove type is pretty cool and unique in design and the cottage living is a traditional agar and smeg fridge.
