Great. Another event with items I won't be able to receive because it'll be too buggy. Why are they even doing this to us again?

I donât play these forced events because I donât need any more content, free or not. In 10 years just imagine all the content in game. Half of itâs probably never been used and how packed your computer is with all the stuff, especially when you have all the packs and and cc+ if you are a CC user. How much more can this game take? Just look at the bug reports. It gets more and more with each pack instead of less. I think itâs about time to come to an end and let the people play their game as they please. 10 years are more than enough for a game built on an old engine, broken and buggy.

Not to mention that it can take a toll on your computer. I have a really good gaming computer that easily runs games like Baldur's Gate 3 or Starfield - no problem, though both games are huge (think 130 GB). Sims 4? All three ventilators are running at high speed, and not because the game is larger than the other two (with almost all packs installed, it's about half the size of either) but because the computer needs a lot of its processing power to run it smoothly. Hound's Head is especially challenging, because it's a huge lot, I currently have five Sims and a dog living there, the place is cluttered as hell and has outdoor stuff like a pool and a greenhouse, not to mention a small adjacent building with a sauna and a whirlpool.

I enjoyed the event, but lived in fear of it breaking my game, as every time I came onto the forum, there was story after story of it! I think there should be a way to opt out of the event. I don't like having to update every single mod nearly every month for things they don't seem to fix when they update the game for another time to only break it again. Then throw a game breaking event into it and it makes you wonder if they want us to even still play it anymore. Sigh...

I am so grateful to the creators that updated their mods with each new patch/ update in a timely manner. I wouldn't play this game without all of my mods.

I had issues with the first event, the Happy Homes I think it was called, it didn't show up for me the first three weeks I think, but thankfully they figured out what was preventing it and I was able to get all the rewards. The Grim Reaper event I had no issue with, I didn't find it bothersome because I played it in with my normal gameplay, my main Sims already had high enough skills in all that was required and each task each week only took me about 20 mins to complete. If this next event ends up the same way I might wait and play it all at once, So I am looking forward to it. Hopefully it runs smoothly.

Reapers rewards never worked for me. I will be really disappointed if this one does not work.
I do like free content though and I don't mind that it's interactive.

The reapers rewards broke for me. Sims team kinda promised they were looking into a fix on the bugs forums then at the end they just said sorry we couldnât fix it in time, and now theyâre wheeling out another which most likely will break again.
The game just wasnât designed with this in mind, players are telling them they donât want it, but they just keep pushing forward with it. Presumably for money but itâs kinda sad. Most players donât seem to want this and time would be better spent fixing existing bugs surely.

We'll see how involved this one is. I mean they may make it a simple log-in event like the Happy at Home because not everyone has seasons or celebrates holidays. Events definitely aren't for everyone, I know it's a time constraint for me with the holidays because I'll be either out with family or working most of the time. But they insist on doing events for free CAS/BB instead of SDX or including it in a patch.
I know the items from the first event ended up in late July and those items getting patched in with the September 30th patch because they know not all simmers were able to get the event to work. If EA could promise that all items from these events would eventually be patched in 2-3 months after the event ends, they'd get a better response from Simmers. It takes the pressure off those who don't want to play.

I'll be abroad most of December, so I'll miss it all. But at least there might be a few news to check during this new event :)
Some helpful information from luthienrising.
Here's how to play these with fewer issues

Yeah it will be interesting to see how they do this mainly with base game.
