Cozy Celebrations Rewards Event: December 3-January 10

Is there a way to opt out of these events?

NOBODY WANTS THIS OR ASKED FOR THIS. These dumb "reward" updates do nothing but break my game, make it lag, and make ME angry. GIVE US A WAY TO TURN THESE OFF WHILE KEEPING ONLINE FEATURES

for real, EA is all like "Here's a christmas gift, we broke the game again :) "

this is so lame, either give us free items or don't but these events don't work and are BORING

whoever came up with this idea should be fired

I wish they'd invest in new and exciting gameplay to improve this game's longevity, instead of time-sensitive gimmicks and recycling the same gameplay over and over again. It doesn't help that most of these reward items are reskins of other stuff we already have, or are reskins of stuff that will come in a future pack. 

The first quest makes the problem even more obvious: cook [new food item], ask 2 people about holiday traditions, and then... cloudgazing? What?

10 jan. aww... they killed the game then they stole christmas. I am getting too old for waiting for this game to load. I hope yall have fun parties, seasons greetings lol!

What i would like to know now at this point is if deleting this accountDataDB.package file is the only thing i gotta do to opt out of the quests... i mean it looks decent i might look into it but when it comes to game play i cant manage stuff from the game from the get go. Social events i dont really even use tbh, so i dont really wanna waste time on quests. And now its getting too much of a hassel to play, id say im about 80% work 20% fun with this shindig. 

Having to delete that file every time i start my game because it re creates itself every time i boot the game. Even offline ! Its kinda annoying...

It seems that disabling social content in the options menu and deleting the current accountDataDB.package makes the event go away - see the posting by littlebonnieblue a bit further down in the thread. Maybe that helps :)

Let's hope for some more options for male simmers in these future SDX/Event releases.  I'm not impressed with the free content right now because I can get better playable cc for free. 

Edit:  I have a retail Christmas lot in my game already that has a hot chocolate booth, buyable Christmas trees located in Windenberg for the last two years. I got all the wreaths hanging on the cedar lined walls for sale.  My point is I already have this in my game from different packs and EP's that I have purchased in the last 3 yrs. I own 53 addons from this game including the Holiday Celebration pack. This feels like a rerun of old gameplay.

Looks like TS4 is going on the shelf until mid-January.
