Creating Rooms With Invisible Walls

I would like to create a pavilion in my Sims back yard but I've not figured out how to create rooms with invisible walls that I can place the roof on and just add columns to appear to support the roof. I've seen porches done like this, but I don't understand how to do it myself.

What occurs to me is to draw a room, then put posts at each corner and join them by a spandrel. This leaves a room with posts and no walls. Install roof normally. Hope this helps.

  • Make the room normally, put the columns where you want them and whatever else you want and then the roof and then just knock down the walls. Easy peasy.

What I do when I do this to save space with my pool on the ground floor. I put the columns up first then build the walls "through the columns" and delete the walls so I have a roof above the pool and an area to build on the next level.
