Request for Refund Under Brazilian Law and the Consumer Protection Code
Hello,
I would like to bring attention to a situation where I believe I am entitled to a refund under Brazilian law, specifically the Consumer Protection Code (Law No. 8.078/90). According to Article 49 of this law, consumers have the right to cancel a contract within 7 days if the purchase occurs outside of a commercial establishment (such as online purchases), without any justification, if the product or service does not meet expectations.
I recently used a service that failed to meet my expectations, and when I reached out for support via chat, the assistance was poor. The support team failed to clarify the reasons for the service not meeting my expectations and did not provide any valid justification for their errors. Furthermore, the customer service was unhelpful, and it felt as though I was speaking to a robot rather than a real person. There is no proper customer support center (SAC), and the lack of communication only added to my frustration.
Regardless of internal policy, the law prevails, and I am exercising my right to request a refund, as per the Consumer Protection Code, because the service I received was unsatisfactory and did not deliver what was promised.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
