Cross-Pack Formative Moments

At first meant for the Positive Thoughts thread, the reply became so long that it'd be best to make a separate post for it.

Oh boy I can share some code information!

Ok ok... Let me get into Formative Moments cross-pack functionality. I dug up some new traits and took a look at Formative Moments, or ChildhoodInspiration as they're called in the code.

How these seem to work is that when your child does certain activities (or socializes with other children), they could get suggested a Formative Moment. You'll have to go to the aspiration panel and choose one. Then you'll get some goals and after completing them your child will get a special trait. With Growing Together, completing a Formative Moment also increases the Childhood Confidence.

There will be 50 Formative Moments. There are 4 types of challenges:

  • Adventure (12)
  • Independence (12)
  • Inquisitiveness (14)
  • Social (12)

15 of them are cross-pack ones, meaning that these were added in files with the patch. The remaining 35 require the Adventure Awaits expansion pack to be found in the game files. Adventure Awaits pack is required for the Formative Moments overall.

While I don't know exactly what interaction cause them to be suggested, here are cross-pack formative moments! Oh boy the lack of Spoiler Tags in replies will make it take a lot of room... Apologies to everyone.

    • Have a Horse and visit the Equestrian Center in Chestnut Ridge's New Appaloosa neighborhood. Then train it! It's one thing to love Horses. Another to ride them. And then the really cool thing is when you train your own Horse and form a true bond with them! If I'm going to be a real Horse Sim then I need to prove myself! And so does my Horse.

And that's it! Now I'm interesting in seeing what Formative Moments come from the pack.
