I've been meaning to share something in this thread for a while, but somehow haven't done it yet.
My current family doesn't have pets (yet), but they do have toddlers :)
Here's Alex (boy) and Max (girl) - they're not twins, but I use a custom lifespan, so I usually have double toddlers for a few days.

And Max had the whim to hug her older brother Sam.

This one isn't really super cute, but somehow still adorable - Alex (independent toddler) decided he could use the slide by himself - it was a mistake.
