Death - no one dies

Are you playing with mods by any chance? Some mods prevent death by emotion, where an overly-excited Sim can die from hysteria, for instance. Emotional deaths are the most common ones, though. Death by electrocution or lightning strikes have to happen a second time while the Sim is in a daze from the first event. Those deaths rarely happen unless the Sim tries to repair an object directly after being electrocuted, or directly after they are struck by lightning.

I only have MCCC and the only thing I've set on to do with death is that when someone dies the family inherit.
But even my whole town, I rarely have anyone drop dead, they all live forever, well extreme old age!!!

Oh dear, I think I am not cut out to have my sims die! hahahahaha

I've only had my Sims die of old age. ...Except one townie that I locked in my Sim's house who died of starvation, I believe.

One Sim drowned in Saluni while going for a swim autonomously.

I've had deaths by fire with starter sims that didn't have cooking skill (or very little) and used the cheapest stove.

Death by emotion is generally easy to see coming since you really have to push a lot of factors to get them to such a high emotional state. I think I got a death by laughter once or twice when sims were telling jokes for a long time in an funny environment and already very happy sims. The one death by anger I had had to be forced since it required so many moodlets, so I was doing every different instance of mean and aggravating interaction I could find, in very quick succession. I haven't had any really random deaths.

The few electrocutions I have seen when insisting on having a low handiness sim repair electronics have only got them singed, and I think they would be more likely to die if they kept working with electricity while singed.

Oh, I've also had elders die by exhaustion, including once right after woohoo, I think (he might have been working out right before). Oops! It's the only "unexpected" death I got. I didn't know that could happen at the time.

In general, if you're somewhat careful, deaths don't really happen. The truly random ones seem very rare.

Like everyone said if you want a random death in this game good luck - nothing random happens in this game. Everything has to be staged and forced, especially if it can be perceived as at all negative. When they tried to put random spontaneous things in this game the unicorns ? and rainbows ? crowd had them “tuned down”.

I once had a sim die from the robotics workstation. It was sad cause she was a cute sim too.

I have never had an emotional death. I don't play with mods. I did have a sim die from scrambled eggs, though. Now no one gets to cook til they have gotten to level 2 cooking. Salad for you, newbie!
