So, my sim dad just died of hysteria, because apparently watching his toddler do something cute, was just far too much amusement for my sim!! He was playful yes, he was wearing clean clothes (which is apparently far more amusing than I had realised!?) but within about 4 seconds he'd watched his son do something cute and was so overcome by playfulness he died before he could reach the mirror to calm himself down! ARGHH! So he died in front of his new wife and twin toddler boys - literally the most depressing end to a game ever!Firstly I'm annoyed that he died of something so silly - it happened so quickly (like I said, clean clothes and toddlers - life threatening in 4 seconds flat!), and secondly now I'm stuck with not being able to decide whether to go back to my last save (ages and lots of hard earned toddler skills away) or carry on my game from here. If it was an accidental death like fire or something I could probably take it - accidents happen in real life etc, but laughter?? Come on now. You've just stripped my toddlers dad away from them forever because the game decided that the toddlers were so cute it was impossible to stay alive???! Noooooo! Plus, how is this little boy now going to live with the guilt?! Oh my... This is so sad..... :'( What's your pre-plan idea of the game play? Maybe, you can continue with the story that the father died? And you can always come back to the save game prior to death...just like overseeing them in a parallel world... I never had a death cause by Emotion overloaded..

I was doing the standard 'get to know you" things like telling jokes and stories, watching the clouds, flirting, etc they'd just agreed to elope and moved home. I entered the lot, my sim walked in the house to ...enjoy wedded bliss in the form of nooboo production, and the new husband, Johny Zest, checked his pulse, and keeled over dead. That's when I got the message that Mr Zest-Tremain had just passed away due to hysteria. I guess my sim was a funnier lady than she ever gave herself credit for :(

Try uploading the mother and twin toddlers to your library. Then you can place them into a new game save, and perhaps, add the father back in. That way they won't lose their current skill sets and you can return daddy from his very bizarre vacation?

Oh my... This is so sad..... :'( What's your pre-plan idea of the game play? Maybe, you can continue with the story that the father died? And you can always come back to the save game prior to death...just like overseeing them in a parallel world... I never had a death cause by Emotion overloaded..

I really dislike that this can happen in the game, to be honest. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I've read several stories of it happening!

Oh, such a sad story! I hate silly deaths, hope I will never ever see this in my game. If this happened to me, I'd probably save the game asap, and move on with the sad memories. But yes, it would be better if he died from something reasonable...

It is so sad! :'( Its a really good idea to play parallel lives. I always play generationally and get bored about 3 generations in, this is my longest one so far, so I wanted it all to go well. I decided to go back and play from before he died, but maybe I'll keep the save and create a rebel 'traumatic childhood' generation.

I was really tempted! I always like the idea of going with the random game events, but it turns out unless I have control over them I'm not as easy going as I thought - control freak anyone!? :D I was so tempted to leave him dead and to make the twin who was a bit too funny, live a life of incredible guilt and partying to distract from the pain - I really wanted to. But the little boys were so cute, and this was the first time I had an unexpected teen pregnancy, I was really loving this little family, so I decided to go back and bring him back to life (with a little less clothes washing!) I think I could have lived with a death by fire or something, but I felt so annoyed at death my laughter I just couldn't bring myself to accept it. Part of me regrets it though, going with random events and letting them dictate the course of my game sounds so much fun (I shall work on my sim control issues :D )

Aww, so sad! I know what you mean, sims I don't really care about cant seem to die of anything, but all of a sudden 'bam, your baby's too funny'! Maybe I should have decided to go with the story like you, I was just too outraged at the silliness of it I think!

I dislike it too. I had a sim die in a fire a little while ago because it was lagging and the sim kept cancelling my action to extinguish, so just stood in the flames until he died! A different annoying death, but if they're going to die I want it to be for a proper reason, and not something unrealistic or the game not listening to me!
